You can be strong and
still need somewhere
to lay it down.
The Gathering Point offers faith-aware counseling, coaching, and wellness support for men, veterans,
first responders, couples, families, pastors, and church leaders carrying more than they show. No
judgment. No performance. Just a real conversation and a practical path forward.
Led by Richard Wooten — U.S. Army veteran, retired Chicago Police Officer, pastor, chaplain, counselor, coach, and mentor.
What we carry, rarely named
Most people are not looking for therapy language. They're looking for someone who gets it.
These are the pressures men and families often bring quietly — and the kinds of concerns The Gathering Point helps people name, understand, and move through with support.
Stress and Emotional Pressure
Loss of purpose
Anger and frustration
Transition after service
Marriage and family strain
Leadership and ministry pressure
Who we walk with
Strong men-first. Open to everyone carrying weight.
Men and fathers
Husbands, fathers, and everyday leaders who never learned how to ask for help.
Veterans
Members of the Armed Forces navigating life after service.
Police and first responders
Officers, firefighters, medics, dispatchers, and public servants carrying the job home.
Couples

One primary pathway
Men's Reset — an 8-week journey from silent survival toward healing and restored strength.

Personalized reset plan
Identify the focus, support, habits, and next step that fit your situation.
Ongoing support and accountability
Build consistent practices and measure progress without shame.

First, a public servant
A public record of service, before this was a website.
Richard’s work in public safety, the military, ministry, pastoral care, and community restoration has been shaped by decades of listening before speaking and helping people carry responsibility without carrying it alone.

The Gathering Point campus is a proposed mixed-use vision for counseling, coaching, wellness, worship, training, media production, office space, events, and community connection. It is a concept in development, not a currently operating facility.
